As an artist Nikki was originally self taught. In 1992 she began her first formal training in collage at the Palo Alto Cultural Center. ARTIST STATEMENT
I am drawn to mysterious, somewhat disquieting images as well as those that are humorous, colorful and joyful. Although I work from a selection of random, unrelated images, my finished pieces are carefully assembled using formal compositional elements. The finished collage opens a window onto an inner landscape that a reflects a multiplicity of experiences and emotions.
